From the Annual two day Rose n Gladioli Flower Show 2011 @ NBRI, Lucknow |
This has to be one of the most unusual little roses in existence!
The strange blooms are made up entirely of sepals rather than petals.
It seems it forgot to make petals, and so made the bloom up of more sepals!

Just when you thought they had every color already...a green rose?:)
very unusual rose indeed..., only pineapples can do that, with green crown.
Now is that not a good camouflage. How will the bees find it?
@ Natti... Thats a good Q you have there... How will the bees find it? Hmmmmm... Guess the Bees know it all.
@ Bangchik n Roherbot...I was amazed when I saw it as an exhibit during the flower show this weekend. I just had to share the picture of this unconventional GREEN ROSE here. Its Beautiful n Different.
Whoa green rose huh...seeing is believing..tQ
This green rose is very unique, special and beautiful.
Fascinating. I've never seen or heard of anything like it!
That's gorgeous!
My flower, have a blessed Sunday!
I have never heard of a green rose before. That is one thing I like about visiting blogs, I always learn something new!
Thanks for visiting my blog as well, hope to see you back often!
I love your green rose, I want to see one in real life now!!!
aloha,
i love the variegated version of this, we have something similar a native rose which is all green and not as showy as this gem.
thanks for sharing this with us.
Never seen a green rose before...what about its fragrance?
Anette
@ P3chandan...Just a mere whiff.
@ Thx Anette...Gulmohar and Amaltas bloom in the summer here, Glad you looked them up in the net and found them beautiful.I too am eagerly waiting for spring when the flowers will be in full bloom here.

PS: Welcome as a new reader to my blog.
I have looked on the internet at your favorite trees. They are all beautiful. Here in Germany there is no comparable flowering tree. The nature here for us is not that great and in winter there is no green and no leaves on the trees. I wait anxiously for the next spring when the first colorful flowers bloom again.
Greetings
Anette
