Hi Radhika!
I remember these flowers, I used to grow them in Nebraska and they did amazing there . I have not tried them here. But you have inspired me to try growing them again. Beautiful photos!

I love balsoms. You have a good collection of them with different colours too. This was one of the first flowers my grandma thought me how to grow when I was a kid. We pluck the flowers and offer it during prayers. I like the way the seeds will pop out when the fruit ripens. I'm the one who can't wait and want to pop them using my hands. Happy Diwali!

I just can't belive the way your blog is come up soooo beautifully ...loved your balsams ... we are having them grow all wild in certain portions of the complex ... reminds me how passionate my father ued to be about his ... :)
Oh! your Buzo is too cute ... I have a girl Aimee ... she is 4 and a half ... just bought a place so that she can finally have a lawn of her own to roll around on ... :)

Hi Radhika, the Balsams are beautiful!! I love them for their self seeding property, they return in the garden year after year rewarding me with prolific blooms!

You must definitely try growing them n share your experience with me as well. I love the fact that they come me varied colours and have a dense growth. They don't even need much care after the seedlings are planted.

Thx a ton for your wishes. I too love them n pluck them every once in a while to offer in our temple @ home while praying. They are such delightful flowers adding vibrant Colours to the Indian Autumn

Buzo is about six yrs old now. Affectionate n lovable. Loves to roll n crawl in the lawn while we play sometimes during the eve's. Do share some picture of Aimee as well. Cheers Radhika

Hi Greem Thumb,

Same here....we usu save the seeds from the previous yrs n then plant the seeds in the backyard n later replant the tiny seedlings in the flower beds once their are abt 12 inches high...Love the dense growth n coverage in an array of colours.

Balsams are great flowers to have in one's garden. I love them for their non exacting nature, their prolific blooms and their reseeding properties!
