The Haute, the Loud, and the Proud, two tone DAHLIA!

Plant Fanatic in Hawaii is hosting a MEME ‘The Hot, the Loud, and the Proud ' to showcase some of your tropicalexotics n hot Mediterranean colors…. Or some wild combinations, amazing discoveries with unusual variations. Or you could also share something exciting you just saw, a crazy garden, amazing garden art or design, an inspiring visit or hike? The MEME is open to all, who wish to participate and will be on the last day of each month…

So Friends, Come one, Come All… Mark Your 'Month End' Calendar n Join the MEME Fun!

Btw, here’s a picture of a Dahlia from our spring garden this season, showcasing some unusual dual tone colour combination and stark variation between the two halves.

Personally, I loved the contrasting colours in RED N PINK and so thought I will share it, as my entry for this month end MARCH MEME. Hope Noel, from A Plant Fanatic in Hawaii and other fellow bloggers here like it.

PS: Like Noel, I am marking my calendar for the Next month's MEME, how about you???????

Oh, I really LOVE LOVE it! Never seen anything like that. I like bi-color of any bloom, and the one like this just takes my breath away. So beautiful! Great choice for the meme. Looking forward to your next one already

Radhika - its a pleasure to meet you. I love participating in memes as I can find new blogs that interest me and I like your bonsai photos very very much. I don't think we have even met over on Blotanical.

Your dahlia is lovely - over here folk are just about thinking of planting the tubers and dreaming of getting some good weather.

You have a lovely background for your blog too. You are ever so welcome to visit my scottish blog anytime. Rosie :)

That is an amazing dahlia! And wonderful photography! It looks 3-D, and makes me want to touch it. I haven't had a lot of luck with dahlias in my Florida garden.

Aloha Noel,
Sure its been a lot of fun, participating in the Meme. This Dahlia was unlike the usual ones...which have subtle shading on tips n show blending of colours etc.
Btw, I specially liked your post on Jade vine. The cyan colour combo is inspiring. Looking fwd to visiting the other participants shortly. Thx n CheerS! Radhika

Hi,

Is there any possibility 'at all' to get that variety? Tuber or cutting. This is one beautiful combination ... very decent looking.

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,
Tariq

Hi Taariq,

I agree its one decent combination. however, i am sorry, we don't have the tuber or cutting for the same. Glad you appreciated it.

Radhika @ EGT

Great. Thanks for responding Radhika. Perhaps at a later date or perhaps someone else on the blog.

I had bought a red-white hybrid that showed almost pure red in one flower and red-white on the other. So, I searched for two colored flowers, and that is how I found your picture. Absolutely amazing! subhanAllaah.

Here is the plant I bought. I guess this does happen frequent enough.

Lovely Flowers Taariq. I did see your pictures. That shaded effect is quite readily available with the plant nurseries and each flower is quite distinct even if its growing from the same plant ... as can be seen in the pict and pointed by you. Once again Thx for stopping by my blog. We have planted some 60 odd Dahlia's this season as well and now I am waiting for them to start blooming. Letc...
