The weekly Village MANDI in progress......where scores of villagers gather to Buy and Sell their cattle and procure their groceries, clothes, sweets etc
Hey Shailaja, I am glad you could enjoy a typical Village *Mandi* through these pictures. The pictures do try and capture the essence of it all with the cattle , the makeshift Bazaar, and the moods of the villagers! I had a rewarding experience just by being there in person :):)
@ Autumn Belle.... LOLz t your comment. Indeed 'CASH COWS'... The villagers thrive on this traditional system of gathering at the weekly mandi along with their cattle for exchange @ buy n sell. I enjoyed being part of the gathering as i got to witness the proceedings first hand. It was quite intersting!

I enjoyed viewing your experience through your photos. I am not sure what part I enjoyed more...the cattle or the bazaar.
Hey plantlady, I am glad you shared and enjoyed my experience of visiting Nawabgunj with these photographs! Thx for stopping by... Cheers! Radhika

The cows on parade must be worth a lot of money. That's what we call 'cash cows'. The mango looks delicious too.
Hi Zindagi, Will definitely visit your site and if possible join it too. Cheers! Radhika
